The design's main focus is to harness sunlight through kite shaped planes and filter this light backward into the interior spaces. Another focus of the design was to incorporate the theme of balance into the exterior and interior spaces. The entire floor is slightly off balance intentionally. Once you reach the yoga studio, here you find your balance. The two studios are the only rooms with a perfectly level floor. The circulation throughout the building is intended to act like the string of the kite. It keeps the yoga studios grounded, while they remain up on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Above is a view of the main entrance. Here the kite shaped planes have been balanced in a way that initiates and harnesses the approach to the building. This large pane of glass and opaqued glass faces the south, which allows for solar gain during the winter.
